Here we have the United Sound Systems Recording Studios located on Second St. at Antoinette close to Wayne State University. This was the studio used by George Clinton to record many famous records by Parliament and Funkadelic. John Lee Hooker and Aretha Franklin also recorded here. I was tipped off to the location of United Sound by some of the guys who work at People's Records on Woodward Ave. The building is currently abandonded, but is slated for renovation. Let's hope that it gets the love it needs. Its great that buildings like this are still standing and operating. It shows the vitality of Detroit's artistic output and that even though the city is hurting, many creative trees still flourish here.
